I’ve wanted to try brunch at Megan’s restaurant for so damn long after hearing rave reviews and being the basic B that I am, they had my attention as soon as I’d spied the floral ceiling.
I always wonder when you’re reviewing a restaurant or event, whether they’re only super nice to you because you’re reviewing them, y’know? But I can say this was not the case with Megan’s as they were just so lovely and didn’t realise we were reviewing until I asked if they’d had many other blogger visitors.
As part of my dining with my dog series, today we’ll be taste testing the brunch menu and giving you the lowdown on the Clapham venue…
As soon as mumma and I arrived we were given our table, pillows were fluffed and we were introduced to our waitress. No sooner had our butts touched our seats, the cutest little dog bed arrived for Bear in classic Megan’s blue gingham complete with two little pillows. Adorable levels one hundred.
Brunch at Megan’s restaurant: Dog loving
Does anyone else own a dog that just embarrasses them at every given opportunity? Our waitress brought over a water bowl for Bear and I swear it was like Bear had been stranded on a desert island for the last week as she stuck her head straight in it. And bless our waitress she just stood there holding the bowl while princess Bear lapped it up. For the love of all things fluffy my dog doesn’t half take the biscuit.
When the water bowl was placed on the floor Bear then proceeded to jump straight in it, and being water adverse she then threw herself at me. Resulting in tiny little paw-prints over my cream blazer. Nice one! You can also probably see that Bear spent a large amount of time next to the dog bed rather than in it, because she is the fussiest (and fluffiest) queen that I know. I blame her dad.
10/10 for dog friendliness and attention to detail.
Ambience & Decor
I briefly mentioned the floral ceilings which are just sooo pretty. Can all brunches come with floral decoration please? Macramé textiles break up different areas of the restaurant, you can dine underneath a glowing olive tree and as for the trip to the bathroom… A staircase of dreams awaits, with twinkly lights galore, which makes a perfect backdrop for an outfit photo (or ten).
Let’s hope the Twitter trolls don’t come for me again for mentioning the Instaworthy deets of this place, sorry not sorry!
We didn’t realise but Megan’s offer a bottomless brunch option for £19pp for 90 mins (between 2 pm and 6 pm). Let’s face it, normally you can hear the bottomless brunch-goers before you see them.
We suddenly feared for our ears at the thought of the noise levels shooting through the roof as people necked their third glass of Prosecco. But Bottomless brunch at Megan’s is a very chilled and classy affair and although we didn’t go bottomless this time, I would definitely return and give it a try. Actually maybe not such a good idea knowing my rowdy friendship group, ha!
Brunch at Megan’s restaurant: OK let’s eat
Being avid foodies, mum and I had already stalked the menu before we arrived. We decided on Eggs Royale (smoked salmon w/ poached eggs & hollandaise on sourdough) and Eggs Benedict (parma ham w/ poached eggs & hollandaise on sourdough). With smashed avo and halloumi on the side, because no-one ever regretted extra sides!
The eggs were cooked to perfection and were beautifully runny, so runny in fact that I managed to get egg all down my cream blazer and all over my arm. I only realised when Bear began obsessively licking my sleeve. So there I was, in the most gorgeous setting, covered in egg and paw-prints. You literally cannot take us anywhere.
Service was super quick and we were topped up and looked after for the entire duration of our stay, with no judgement on the amount of food we tucked away!
Overeating whilst wearing a crop top is fast becoming a personality trait I swear. Who orders dessert after brunch? Me apparently. But when half baked cookie dough with Nutella, pistachios and ice cream presents itself on the menu, it would be a crime not to order it, AMIRITE?
We finished it too…
We left just as Bottomless brunch was getting into full swing which made it ten times to harder to pass a table without a hand shooting out to stroke a very smug little Bear.

Couldn’t have asked for nicer food in the most gorgeous setting and Megan’s is more than just dog-friendly, they abso love four-legged visitors. I do wonder what size dog bed they’d whip out if you wandered in with a Great Dane though…
Have you been to Megan’s – what did you order? xo
*I was kindly invited to Megan’s – where we were gifted complimentary drinks and food. I was under no obligation to post and all thoughts are my own.

Sounds great but……Bottomless? ……. not one I’ve heard before but assume that means eat as much as you want or …..?
