Behind the False Lashes: London Blogger

New year, New blog? Well yes, I did figure that Jan was a good time to rebrand and give my blog an overhaul but there were a few more reasons for the rebrand which I will go in to shortly. But in the meantime say hello to my new site, Behind the False Lashes: a London blogger here for all your fashion, lifestyle and general lols. 

First up my old blog name AsSeenInSW16 – unless you live in London you probably aren’t too familiar with the Streatham postcode. Totally fair enough.

Which led to me having to explain what it means, repeatedly. Which made even less sense as I haven’t actually lived in SW16 for nearly 4 years now, so I’m not well, seen there at all anymore really. Moving house for a blog seemed excessive so a name change was necessary.

It was also a bit of a bugger to spell, not to mention that a few people thought it had something to do with asses (particularly when written in lower case) which is not really the target audience I was aiming for. Don’t even get me started on WIX and the pain that it caused me over the years.

So while my old site did a good job for all of our travelling escapades it was long overdue a refresh, rebrand and good old sort out. I have to give a huge shout out to Pipdig for all their help with getting me up and running, helping to migrate my content and answering all my technically challenged questions – could not recommend them enough!

Introducing Behind The False Lashes: London Blogger

Some of my O.G followers will remember “Behind The False Lashes” from back in the day. This was my first ever blog, and when I asked friends, family as well as my lovely followers, to help me choose a new name from a selection this is the one that repeatedly came out on top. So here we are.

The name “Behind The False Lashes” is me in a nutshell. It conveys my love of the typical girly essentials, false lashes, a bronzed glow, glitter, highlighter brighter than my future (you get the picture). As well as giving a sneak peek into the real me, the ups, the downs and the round and rounds! & all the things that you wouldn’t necessarily know from taking me at face value.

Blogger and brand collaborations

This year I want to delve into a range of topics, from struggling with self-image, how to make the gym your ultimate BFF and maybe even a bit of wedding planning thrown in. Well, when I actually get round to making some progress that exceeds pinning pretty flower arrangements on Pinterest.

I’m also going to be brave and try and attend as many blogging events as I can get my hands on (or get invited to).

I’ve found learning from other bloggers priceless in growing my following, improving my writing and finding out how to go about getting those all important paid posts, so I’m looking forward to sharing what I’ve learnt!

I’m keen to work with lots of bloggers this year so if you have an idea for a colab feel free to ping me an email.

Thank you for those that have followed me since the very beginning, those that joined somewhere in the middle and hello to those that have just stumbled across my page looking for eyelashes… at least it’s not asses!
