Statement Made Jewellery: Review – Can a girl ever have too much jewellery?
I think you know the answer to that one. Therefore it comes as no surprise that when Statement Made Jewellery got in touch to see if I wanted to review one of their pieces I agreed almost immediately, after being greeted with an array of gorgeous personalised pieces.
Initially, they asked if I would be happy to receive a surprise piece and while it might sound like a lovely idea, I’m a control freak, so I did probe a little into what the surprise might be. I am a self-confessed fusspot and didn’t want them to send out something for the sake of it, and risk a piece of jewellery simply sat gathering dust on a shelf somewhere.
Statement Made Jewellery review: Honesty is always the best policy
I always feel it’s best, to be honest when entering into a collaboration with a brand and personally would only collaborate with someone if they were the right fit for me and vice versa. I immediately liked the ethos of Statement Made Jewellery, in the sense that their focus is on individuality and personalisation and in turn, I was excited to receive my personalised necklace.
Statement Made Jewellery review: Personal and purse friendly
“You were not born from a cookie cutter” is the line that stood out to me most from their vision statement. And amen sister, ain’t that just the truth! I live for expressing my originality through jewellery, clothing, shoes, handbags, hats, scarves, sunglasses – well you get the picture.
All of this expression can be an expensive pastime though, and not the most pleasant when constantly greeted with too much month left at the end of my money! But luckily Statement Made Jewellery are very purse friendly and you can pick up a lovely, handmade, personalised item for around £17.95.
Statement Made Jewellery review: The packaging
Firstly can I just say I’m a sucker for packaging – cute details, bows, ribbons, a little note from the manufacturer – all the things I live for. So when my necklace arrived in a gorgeous little cream pouch tied up with a pink bow, complete with a certificate of authenticity and care instructions, this was a great start.
It’s so nice to have that extra little detail and this is one of the best things about working with small businesses! The little pouch can be used to store the necklace when you’re not wearing it or alternately can be used to keep smaller bits of jewellery like rings and earrings safe.
The necklace
The piece that I chose was a small silver initial necklace from their friendship range, which can be worn day to day or in the evening, as you please. I’m much more a fan of daintier pieces of jewellery than large statement pieces so this piece suited my tastes down to a tee.
The necklace is silver plated, has a carabiner claw clasp and comes on a standard 18″ chain, although you can customise this based on your requirements.
I obviously chose the initial H and opted to keep it fairly simple, just like me hey. But you can personalise pretty much everything, from the chain length to adding a birthstone, a plush box for it to arrive in as well as a personalised message on the card that comes with it.
The verdict
I really like that Statement Made Jewellery allows you to customise pretty much everything about the piece you’re buying, so it can be 100% tailored to you or the person you’re buying for. The necklace I received was good quality and the clasp felt secure (I have an irrational fear of losing necklaces – I’m aware I’m weird btw).
So would I buy from Statement Made Jewellery again? Absolutely. Whether you’re looking for a Mothers Day prezzie, a gift for a friend or loved one or just want to TREAT YO SELF, why not check out Statement Made Jewellery and personalise your prezzie!
