Fross Wedding Collections: Review – Yes to the dress

Fross Wedding Collections: Review – Can I just say, trying on Wedding Dresses is the most fun thing ever, and all the work and detail that goes into each one is just ridiculous. If it was acceptable to wear a wedding gown every day I absolutely would. Imagine the looks you’d get whilst doing the food shop though…

Let me set the scene for you – it’s Wednesday 19th March 2019, we’re due to leave for our appointment at Fross Wedding Collections in Uckfield at 10 am for a 10:30 appointment. Mum is over an hour late back from dropping the girls off at school, as the trains were cancelled due to a landslide (of course) and Alex was very much still asleep. Can you feel how relaxing the morning was, as well as the sarcasm in my writing…

Dream dress or big old stress?

The night before my dress appointment, I dreamt I found my dress. I also dreamt I was in a plane crash and that my tattoo went horribly wrong, so I wasn’t sure what my dreams were trying to indicate, to be honest.

Fross Wedding Collections: Review – Getting stuck in

We made it to our appointment bang on time, by some sort of bloody miracle. On the drive there I realised I’d once again self-sabotaged by having a chicken pie and brownie for dinner, but why break a habit of a lifetime hey?!

How can I explain the interior at Fross Collections? You know that scene in Bridesmaids where they go to try on dresses, think plush sofas, sparkle, an entire section of veils and tiaras, next level dresses (don’t worry there was no food poisoning involved here!).

It was stunning and I felt like a total princess as soon as I walked in. Luckily I also had the entire shop to myself due to my appointment being on a Wednesday morning – amen annual leave! Fross and Helen were so welcoming and seemed genuinely interested in my wedding planning so far. We all had an obligatory laugh as I explained how clumsy I was and it was clear that I’d defo need a hand getting in and out of the gowns.

I’d already researched (aka Insta stalked) a bunch of their dresses and knew roughly the style I liked from my first appointment, so I selected four gorgeous gowns and headed for the fitting room.

Fross wedding collections: ReviewFross Wedding Collections: Review – The Tear Factor

A few weeks back I tried on some lovely dresses and had four faves but I didn’t find “the one” and there were no tears. I thought it might be a myth, trying on a dress and knowing instantly it was the right dress for me, so I wasn’t convinced I’d even get that feeling. But as soon as I put my dress on, I just knew. That and I burst into tears. Ugly crying as per.

As soon as I’d sashayed out of the changing rooms avoiding getting in a knot with the dress and the curtains (bc walking in a wedding dress is no joke let me tell you) both mum and Alex were in tears. We had just found a winner, guys.

Fross helped me on to a pedestal allowing mum and Alex to get a good view of the back of the dress where I concentrated on keeping upright and not falling on my face – I didn’t choose the clumsy life, the clumsy life chose me.

As you can probs guess, I can’t give too much away about the details of the dress but I will say that the style is completely different to what I thought I’d want when I initially started looking at dresses. But I am totally in love with it and felt comfortable in it straight away, I can’t stress how important comfort is when picking a dress.

I couldn’t think of anything worse than spending a day in a dress where I felt at all self-conscious, couldn’t move or couldn’t EAT. I plan to enjoy all of the food at our wedding!

Fross wedding collectionsFross Wedding Collections: Review – Prosecco and photos

Most bridal shops won’t allow you to take photos in their wedding dresses as the designers aren’t keen on seeing their dresses clipped to fit. Fross was happy with us taking photos though (once mum had taken her photo off selfie mode and stopped accidentally videoing) she also presented us with glasses of prosecco to celebrate, yes it was 11 am but its always 5 pm somewhere right?!

So after saying “yes to the dress”, I was measured and put down a deposit for half the dress – aka the most money I’ve ever spent in one go. Yo’ girl just got a wedding dress!

Fross Wedding UckfieldFross Wedding Collections: Review – Keeping the biggest secret

I’m an oversharer. I won’t beat about the bush. My breakfast, my Starbucks, my journey to work, my #ootd, my nutty family, the highs, the lows – you’ll find all it all nicely documented on my Insta stories or shared in photos or tweets.

So, imagine the biggest oversharer finding the best dress ever and then having to keep it a secret… for over a year. It’s like torture, I literally can’t wait to wear it! I think I’ve asked Dem if I can show him the dress, pretty much every day since I found it, his answer is always a resounding no.

Aside from immediate family, the dress is under wraps until August 2020, when all will be revealed! Which gives me just enough time to stop carb loading and tripping over my own feet, well here’s hoping… xo
